Definition

What are hotel QR code guest services?

Hotel QR code guest services let a guest scan a QR code in their room to open a hotel-specific Guest Hub in the browser, then request services — towels, cleaning, maintenance, reception help — that arrive in a staff dashboard. There is no app to download, and the room context comes from the QR code itself.

From scan to resolved

How room QR guest services work.

  1. Place a QR code in each room

Each room gets its own printable QR card, linked to that specific room — no codes for guests to type.

  2. The guest scans the code

A quick scan from the phone camera, the way guests already scan menus and Wi-Fi codes.

  3. The hotel Guest Hub opens

The room's hotel-specific Guest Hub opens in the browser — no app, no account, no room number to enter.

  4. The guest sends a request

Towels, cleaning, reception help, or a reported room issue — the guest picks a request and adds a note.

  5. Staff see it in the dashboard

The request appears in the realtime staff dashboard with its room context already attached.

  6. The hotel tracks and resolves it

Staff move the request from pending to in progress to completed, with email updates along the way.

FAQ

Hotel QR code guest services — common questions.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Guests scan the QR code in their room and the Guest Hub opens in the browser. No installation, no account, and no typing a room number — the room context comes from the QR code itself.

What can guests request through a room QR code?

Guests can request cleaning, extra towels and amenities, reception help, and report room issues like AC or lighting problems. They can also view the hotel information the hub provides and, where the hotel enables it, browse hotel-recommended local businesses through Discover Near Us.

Does Stayhos replace a PMS?

No. Stayhos is a guest request and operations layer that works alongside your PMS — it does not replace it. Hotels can optionally import guest stays from a CSV export. Real PMS API integration is on the roadmap and is not live today.

Can staff manage requests from the dashboard?

Yes. Guest requests appear in a realtime staff dashboard organized by room, with type, note, and status. Staff move each request from pending to in progress to completed, and managers can review history in the archive.

Can hotels add local recommendations?

Yes. Through Discover Near Us, a hotel can curate the local businesses its guests see in the Guest Hub. It is hotel-curated, not a public directory or open marketplace, and guest interest becomes a tracked lead for the business.

Is Stayhos a hotel booking website?

No. Stayhos is used after check-in, inside the hotel room. It does not help travelers find or book hotels, and hotels onboard privately — there is no public hotel listing or ranking.

Can this work for a pilot without full PMS integration?

Yes. Stayhos works without a PMS, so a pilot can start with a limited room group — for example 50–100 rooms, one floor, or one building. Each room gets its own QR card, so the rollout can grow room by room.
